The cap of last weekend, and summer (sort of) was the party we hosted to celebrate Ethan's 20th birthday. It was well attended and everyone seemed to have a great time.
It was a potluck and we had a wonderful selection of stuff to eat.
I always try to make something special, handmade and symbolic for presents for the kids. When I went to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival this year I was very inspired the art produced by Vintage Sculpture.
And I happened to have a wonderful photo of Ethan, Larr and Grandpa Don smoking cigars, laughing. Don has enjoyed cigars for most of his life. The yellow boxes are a part of the fabric of our memory of being at the grandparent's home, so it seemed appropriate to use one of those boxes for base of this year's present.
He loved it and I loved making it for him.
