Spring Break, Part III - A Rockin' Adventure

Grand Junction, situated next to Fruita, is a wonderful place to mountain bike. Of course we had to spend some time taking in the sights and riding on some rocks.

When we go to places like the Colorado Monument I think about what it must have felt like for the pioneers when they came west and encountered such beauty, a beauty so different from that of their home state.

On Saturday we had aimed to be at the Monument to take in the sunrise. We missed that, but still arrived before any other cyclists.

That meant that the kids had the bike park all to themselves. They played a bit and then did some of the trails. We finished up at another part of the Monument for some very different kind of riding.

On our way back to Denver we made a stop at Rifle Falls. It was beautiful as ever, but so different from when it is green.

Interestingly, Ethan was off on his own, very different, primitive style camping trip just about 30 minutes away from where we were. I'lll share that with you soon.
